Call Congress and Oppose Wildlife-Harming Offshore Drilling

The Trump administration is barreling ahead with its proposal to industrialize our coasts with dangerous offshore drilling — and we have less than one month to stop it.

From now until August 17, the Trump administration is accepting comments on its proposal to open up Arctic waters and millions of coastal acres off U.S. shores to oil and gas drilling.

This massive expansion of risky offshore drilling poses a huge risk to some of America’s rarest and most beloved animals.

Oil spills can cause polar bears to lose the natural insulation that enables them to survive the freezing waters of the Arctic. Sea turtles, dolphins, and other wildlife can choke and die swimming through toxic oil spills. And the government’s own study admits that expanding seismic exploration for oil and gas deposits along the East Coast could kill thousands of marine animals, including imperiled whales and dolphins.

We need to amplify our message in Washington, DC by letting our elected officials that we want them to speak up for America’s coastal waters — and the wildlife we could lose to expanded drilling.

Please call your senators and member of congress now via the capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and deliver this simple message:

“My name is [YOUR NAME] and I’m calling from [YOUR TOWN] to urge [NAME OF US REPRESENTATIVE OR SENATOR] to submit an official comment OPPOSING the administration’s plan to dramatically expand risky drilling for oil and gas off America’s coasts.

Imperiled polar bears, sea turtles, whales, dolphins and other marine life need healthy oceans to survive. We should be protecting the oceans, not inviting more oil spills by industrializing our coastal waters.”
