Tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: Officially list African giraffes on the endangered species list
Dear Acting Director Greg Sheehan,
Not only has the population of African giraffes in the wild plummeted -- from at least 150,000 in 1985 to fewer than 98,000 in 2015 -- but their hooves, horns, skin and other parts are being imported into the United States and sold, legally.
It's a tragedy to lose any creature. But to sacrifice these vulnerable giraffes to be turned into boots, rugs, book covers and other goods is unconscionable.
I urge your agency to make the right decision and officially list giraffes on the endangered species list.
