Tell Congress to Fully Fund the EPA

President Donald Trump's new 2019 budget request would slash EPA funding by nearly a quarter.

These devastating cuts would compromise the ability an already-underfunded EPA to keep our air and water clean. It would mean less monitoring of pollution sources, fewer polluter prosecutions, delayed cleanups and an overall reduction of staff and resources.

Your Letter:

As a constituent and someone who cares about public health and the environment, I strongly urge you to reject the President's proposed 23 percent cut to the Environmental Protection Agency's budget.

These cuts -- like those rejected by Congress last year -- would compromise the ability of an already-underfunded EPA to keep our air and water clean and protect public health. Popular and much-needed efforts to clean up the Great Lakes, Chesapeake Bay, and Puget Sound could fall by the wayside. Chemical safety may be compromised. And monitoring and enforcement efforts will almost certainly be reduced under the administration's budget.

For more than 45 years, the Environmental Protection Agency has cleaned our air, protected lakes and forests from acid rain, saved iconic species like the American bald eagle, and taken dangerous products off the shelves.

Now especially, we need a strong EPA. Please do everything in your power to ensure that this vital agency has the resources it needs to protect nature and public health.
