Speak Out for Our Oceans: Demand an End to the Dumping of Fracking Wastewater
The Obama Administration has greenlighted the resumption of fracking off of California’s coasts -- a recommendation that could allow natural gas companies to dump as many as nine billion gallons of fracking wastewater into our precious oceans.
It’s a dangerous decision. The toxic soup that the natural gas industry wants to dump in our oceans contains chemicals like benzene, chromium-6, lead, and arsenic. These chemicals can cause cancer and reproductive damage to humans and can poison marine wildlife like dolphins and sea turtles.
Our oceans are gems of the natural world -- not toxic dumping grounds for fossil fuel companies to use as they please. Please sign now and demand a ban on the dumping of fracking wastewater in our oceans.
